Sam Grabowska (b.1982 San Diego, CA, USA) is a multidisciplinary artist living and working in Denver, Colorado, USA. Working predominantly in sculpture, their installations interface abstracted bodies with architectural armatures. Driven by material experimentation, Grabowska mutates fragments of the integumentary system (like hair and skin which protects the inner body from the outer world) and building materials. Grabowska has exhibited their work in museums and galleries across the US and Sweden including the SOO Visual Art Center, Boulder Museum of Contemporary Art, and Rejmyre Art Lab. Their work has been reviewed in The Denver Post and Southwest Contemporary, among others. They hold a PhD in architecture with a cognate in cultural anthropology, an MH in interdisciplinary humanities, a BFA in film, and a BA in environmental design.
